The Eagle and Vulture

In my study, I notice cycles in civilization.  One interesting cycle that stands out to me is the symbol of mighty nations.  This symbol that shows up over and over is the eagle.  Many nations that left a lasting impact on the planet used the eagle as a symbol.  Egypt, Rome, Babylon, Nazi Germany and America.

The eagle is admired for it's beauty, it's grace during flight and its strength.  One attribute that is rarely mentioned is the eagles ability to kill. The eagle is designed to rip the flesh and organs of smaller prey. This is only natural because it is the design of the eagle, the eagle is doing what it is supposed to do, kill. What features of the eagle do nations imitate when they decide to make it their symbol?  The amazing eyesight of an eagle is believed by some to be superior not only due to the physical eye of the eagle, but the way the eagle thinks.  The grass, rocks and other objects are mentally filtered out of the eagles sight.  He then only chooses to see movement.  The Eagle has Tunnel vision times ten.  I have noticed more Turkey Vultures within the past few years.  The vulture is considered ugly, it tends to be associated with death and evil, but the fruit tree nor the young rabbit need fear it's presence.  The vulture only takes what is given to her.  Her Gut contains amazing enzymes that might one day cure our most dreaded diseases.  The vulture can not be accused of harming anyone or anything.  She like many other animals considered pests, are a part of natures cleanup crew.  Who told you the vulture was ugly? who said she was evil? What has the vulture done to deserve these titles and descriptions?.  When the vulture is compared to the eagle, she seems to be a sign of peace, she takes away that which is full of disease, she removes that which has been killed by another being.  So maybe one day, in the distant future a nation will rise that will pick the vulture as a symbol instead of the eagle.  What will that nation do? What will it be remembered as?  The eagle is beautiful and mighty, but......so is the vulture.
